SEVEN SPECIAL ANGELS - BACKGROUND

On our planet, seven special archangels are working with us at this time to bring qualities such as love, peace, humility and joy to earth. We are heading towards one of the most spiritual eras, a golden age in which angels will once more walk and communicate easily with mankind. Actually, there are many thousands of archangels and each one has a special role to play in bringing harmony to the whole universe.

Archangels, although not the highest ranking angels, are especially significant in our world. Gabriel is particularly well known as a bringer of hope: he told Mary of the birth of Jesus, and he gave the Quran to the Prophet Muhammad. Archangels have a vital role in the angelic realm and in our world. They look after other types of angels, including guardian angels, healing angels and teaching angels. On earth they have specific roles: for instance, Archangel Uriel is a bringer of peace by directing other angels who can help in resolving conflict.

ACTIVITY

There is a simple action song that you can sing with your child, which will teach the names of these seven special archangels. Treat this as a lighthearted, fun activity, and make the song sound happy. On the way your child will begin to learn about the location of the seven main chakras, or energy zones, in our bodies. It is not important at this stage to know more detail about the chakras, although this may emerge naturally through your child’s questions. You should sing and perform the actions one line at a time, and encourage your child to copy the line and action, before moving on to the next one. When you sing the name of an archangel, enunciate each syllable separately, to elongate the name. Uriel	Both hands, fingertips touching, positioned just above your navel
Chamuel	Cross your hands flat on your heart
Michael	Cross your hands flat on your throat
Raphael	Rub the middle of your forehead gently with both hands
Jophiel	Hands touching flat on the crown of your head
Zadkiel	Stretch your arms in the air above your head & wave them as you turn around
Now sing the song in reverse, starting with Zadkiel and ending at Gabriel, before finishing with the following lyric:
Seven special angels Happy as can be Playing in heaven Watching you and me	Use fingers for the word “seven”. Then point for “you and me”.
